Project 3: Art Gallery, Shop/House - Design Concept

The Front Top View
The roof window openings designed to allow nature light penetrate into the lobby of gallery and cast light and shadow on the interior white wall of lobby.
The roof garden with semi-transparent glass floor penetrate the diffuse sun light into the gallery space.
The canopy connect next building's canopy and merge into the building, create the continuity with surrounding and use canopy to provide shatter and leads pedestrians get into the building.
On the street level, and glass triangular floor panel divides the outdoor path visually and encourage the pedestrians penetration though the gallery.

The window openings on the wall design to serve the different programs of gallery, the side top has large amount of opening to provide nature light for workshop/learning center, and the window openings only in the top wall of gallery space. For back side of facade, the window become smaller in order to serve the residential part of building.
On the street level, the large glass window expose the indoor garden to the public, behind the indoor garden is the the permanent gallery space which store the permanent collection of gallery, also can be seem by public to increase the public interest of this gallery.

The pedestrians have uninterrupted view penetrate though the gallery to encourage they get into and walk though the gallery even they just want to go the the back street.

It also has the unstop view to encourage movement through the gallery.
The coffee shop serve both gallery and public.

The View of Main Stair Case
The stair case merge with the building modular create the continuity of space. the tall white wall reflect the light from roof openings to catch the attention of visitors and encourage the movement into the gallery modular. The opening on the wall give the visitors snap view into gallery spaces and increase the interest to explore the gallery.

The Overview of Gallery spaces through Ground and First Floor.
Three modulars or six semi-separate gallery space provide the opportunities to organize different artist's art works in separate space, and increase the flexibility and function of the gallery space.

The visitors can choose their own route to explore the gallery, in the other hand, the gallery can be easy to partion into two different sector to hold two different event.
